Terms
The terms of using LEVL.
What you agree to when you use the LEVL rider app, the LEVL driver app or ridelevl.com. Written in plain words on purpose.
1. Who we are and what this is
LEVL ("we", "us") is a ride service in Kansas City, operated by Wayu LLC. The LEVL rider app lets a rider request a ride with an independent driver who drives their own car. The LEVL driver app lets a driver set their price and accept and drive those rides. These terms are the agreement between you and LEVL for using the apps and the website. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account and to ride alone. A rider who is under 18 rides with an adult account holder present.
- Your phone number is your account. Keep it and your device secure; what happens on your account is treated as done by you until you tell us otherwise.
- Give us accurate details and keep them current. One person, one account.
- You may delete your account at any time from the app. What is deleted and what is kept.
3. Rides
- A ride is a contract for transportation between you and the driver who drives it. LEVL arranges it, records it, collects the fare and pays the driver.
- The driver sets the fare. You name the most you will pay, and the price you are matched at is shown before pickup. It is the price you pay unless the ride changes (a stop added, a different destination) or you cancel late or do not show up, in which case the amount shown in the app applies.
- Be ready at the pickup. A driver who has waited the time shown in the app may leave, and the ride is treated as a no show.
- Wear a seat belt. No smoking, no open alcohol, no more passengers than seat belts, no pets other than service animals unless the driver agrees. A driver may end a ride that becomes unsafe.
- Treat the other person with respect. Harassment, threats, discrimination or violence, on either side, end the account.
4. Paying
- You pay for rides by card. The total is held on your card when you request a ride and charged when the ride ends. Card payments are processed by our payment processor under its terms.
- The receipt lists the fare, LEVL’s booking fee, insurance and card processing as separate lines.
- Promotional credit has the conditions shown when it is given and may expire. It is not cash.
- If a charge looks wrong, write to support@ridelevl.com within 30 days and we look into it.
5. Drivers
- A driver is an independent contractor, not an employee of LEVL, who drives their own car, sets their own price and decides which rides to take.
- Before the first ride a driver gives us a valid driver's license, personal auto insurance, the car's details and photographs, an inspection, and consent to a background check and a driving record check, and signs the driver agreement. We may decline or pause any file.
- A driver keeps the full fare and every tip and pays LEVL for access to the service as set out in the driver agreement. Earnings are paid out from the app.
- A driver keeps their license, insurance and car in good standing, drives within the law, and reports any incident on a ride to us at once.
6. Safety and conduct
- Rides are recorded: where they started and ended, the route the car took, and how it was driven. We use this to keep people safe, to resolve disputes and to meet the law.
- In an emergency call 911 first, then tell us.
- You may not use the service for anything unlawful, to carry anything unlawful, to harm or harass anybody, to scrape or copy the apps, to interfere with them, or to create an account for somebody else.
7. Your data
What we collect and why is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
8. The apps and the site
LEVL owns the apps, the site, the name and the mark. You may use them to use the service, and for nothing that competes with it or copies it. Maps and addresses come from Google Maps Platform under Google's terms.
9. Ending an account
You may leave at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, puts anyone at risk, or is used for fraud, and we tell you why unless the law prevents it. Money you are owed is still paid out.
10. Responsibility
- LEVL arranges rides between riders and independent drivers. To the extent the law allows, LEVL is not liable for the acts of a rider or a driver, and not for indirect or consequential loss.
- Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not let us limit.
- Where liability is limited by law, LEVL's total liability to you for any claim is the amount you paid LEVL for the ride in question.
11. Disputes
Write to us first at support@ridelevl.com; most things are settled that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts in Jackson County, Missouri, unless the law where you live gives you the right to something else.
12. Changes
When these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Using the service after that is accepting the new terms.
